In contrast, any time Red is seen in the games, he is dead silent. Like any normal functioning human, he grew and matured with age and became a paragon of his community. He began his journey as a bratty 11 year old, but this is due to him being a straight up prodigy with only his grandfather to really knock some sense into him. When beaten, he actively encourages his victor to get even better than they already are, because Blue wants others to succeed. When he meets silver, its when hes initially mourning the loss of cinnabar island, but takes the challenge anyway when he gets back to his gym. While after red becomes champion, he just goes off the radar to train and catch more pokemon, Blue begins to give back to the community. The real divide and the reason that Blue is a better character come in silver and beyond. We can all agree that as an 11 year old, the games, pokemon origins, and pokemon generations portrayed Blue as a cocky jerk. We know for a fact that as children, Red and Blue are both incredibly driven and stayed relatively on pace with one another. Through all the media we've seen of these two throughout the years, we have a really good picture of these two.
